You smiled softly, gently as the stray cats gathered around you.

Setting down the plastic bag, you silently opened it and removed from it; a can of wet cat food.

You then popped the tab, starting to fill the large food bowl you had brought with you.

You couldn't help but laugh softly as a specific cat headbutted your belly, at the homemade cat treats you had in your hoodie pocket.

"Be patient Mio." You cooed, petting his head.

He mewed as the cats began to hiss a little.

You blinked as they did this for everyone they didn't know or cats that weren't from around here.

You looked over your shoulder, a soft and startled squeak from your mouth at the unexpected person behind you.

"Ichimatsu - san?" You then questioned, eyes widened a little.

He was silence, staring at the plethora of cats around you.

You turned back for a moment, to soothe the cats.

Voice sweet, you spoke, "Oh babies, calm down, he's a friend..."

Reaching and gently petting them individually, calming them each.

With the sound of footsteps moving near you, you looked to your left and up at him.

"What're you doing here?" You asked softly.

He stayed silent simply shifting his gaze from you to the cats.

You felt a warm feeling spread through your chest as the thought made you smile, "He was worried about the cats..."


You giggled and said, "Would you like to feed them their treats?"

He seemed a bit confused but you slipped the bag from your hoodie pocket, "They're homemade."

He flushed and looked away as he muttered, "Homemade, hn, I'm not interested."

You amusedly chuckled as you thought, "He says this as he takes them."

"Individual cat treats? Hmph." He looked down at them, cheeks red as he realised they were cut out into cute little shapes.

You smiled and set Mio on the floor, gently moving him towards Ichimatsu.


"How do I...?" He trailed off, turning his gaze to you.

You giggled and took the bag back for a moment, removing one of the treats from the bag and setting it in his hands.

"Just cup your hands like this," You demonstrated "and let them eat."

Immediately, all the cats crowded around him.

He looked briefly shocked but he couldn't help the smile that slipped onto his face.

You felt your cheeks instinctively warm up and a smile appeared on your face as well, "When he become so... Sweet?"


He flicked his gaze to you again, watching you pet Mio.

A gorgeous smile on your beautiful face.

He had it bad, didn't he?

His stomach was doing flips and his heart was pounding out of control.

He hoped it hadn't shown on his face.

You were so...

You turned to him, blinking as you had seen him staring back at you.

He jolted and looked away once more, his face burning up.

"Oh, nonononononono - " He thought.

You blushed and giggled, calling for him softly, "Ichimatsu."

Ichimatsu turned back to you, not expecting the tender look in your pretty eyes and sweet little smile.

His heart jumped as he realised that smile was for him.


His voice jumped up a pitch, "Y - yes?"

You turned to him as you began to hesitate slightly, cheeks pink, "I have something to ask you..."

Ichimatsu curled his fingers into his sweatpants, swallowing the lump in his throat.

"What?" He asked gruffly, silently cursing his harsh tone.

You continued, undeterred, "I was... wondering if..."

You trailed off nervously as you looked down at your lap.


You tucked your hair behind your ear and bit your lip.

"If maybe," You looked away as your face completely became red "you'd like to get lunch with me this weekend."

You continued to look down, petting Mio a little more to try and calm down.

He was speechless and breathless.

Were you actually asking him out on a date?


He flushed as he stuttered out his answer.

You couldn't help the grin at appeared on your face.

Meanwhile, lingering around the corner; were three figures.

"Well, who'd have thought?" Karamatsu whispered.

"Well, bless my soul." Matsuyo gushed.

"Well, who'd have known?" Choromatsu said incredulously.

"Well, who indeed?" Their mother giggled.

"And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?" Kara leaned up against the wall with a smirk.

"It's so peculiar." Matsuyo commented as they slipped away.

They smiled as they found a conclusion.


Choromatsu muttered, "You know, perhaps there's something there that wasn't there before."

Matsuyo nodded with a smile, "There's something there that wasn't there before."
